Candidates Announced for
November 2008 Election

Two respected healthcare leaders have announced their candidacy for the Marin Healthcare District Board, with a platform of ensuring a well-planned future for Marin General Hospital. Marin Healthcare District Board Chair Sharon Jackson is seeking to retain her seat in the November 2008 election; she is running jointly with long-time Marin obstetrician-gynecologist Harris (Hank) Simmonds as candidates sponsored by the Alliance to Save Our Hospital.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ALLIANCE TO SAVE MARIN GENERAL HOSPITAL IS:

1) To educate ourselves and the general public regarding healthcare issues and how these issues affect the hospital.

2) To give community input and support transition planning for new management, as appropriate.

3) To seek and support candidates for the Marin District Board.
