Sharon Jackson and Dr. Hank Simmonds Win a Resounding Victory in Healthcare District Race

Sharon and Hank ran an energetic and positive campaign and were rewarded with a convincing victory, a combined vote of 53.6 % of votes cast. [FINAL VOTE]

Congratulations to the victors and the campaign team, who were backed by 280 doctors and nurses, who joined over 475 elected officials and community leaders as endorsers.

The winners will join and form a super majority on the board to face the critical task of guiding the transition to District control.

This new super majority also bodes well for the next phase of hospital modernization and seismic compliance as well as continued emphasis on quality of care for district residents.

1) To educate ourselves and the general public regarding healthcare issues and how these issues affect the hospital.

2) To give community input and support transition planning for new management, as appropriate.
