District Board Report,
December 2008

1. In early December we signed the contract with ACS to manage the McKesson software for our critical IT program. ACS will provide the $7 million to fund starting the IT system. Last night, we unanimously voted to authorize Work Order 5,; outsourcing the business office functions to ACS for three years. This $13 million contract will save the District and the Hospital up to $1 million over the 3 years.

2. We finalized the $20 million dollar line of credit from the Marin County Board of Supervisors. This Friday we will receive the first million dollars to finance transition activities.

3. Last night we also unanimously voted to submit the necessary drawings to OSPHD for new state of the art additions to MGH. The deadline was December 31. We have asked OSPHD and the Board of Supervisors unanimously supported our request, to extend the deadline until 2015 to have a seismically safe hospital. The proposed plans are on the Districts website.

4. We meet in closed session to discuss extending Mr. Domanicos contract. Although there is no reportable actions, I am confident that we will reach an agreement with Lee in the near future.
